The ones with stone base look nice.
Would it be possible for me to check it out in Max? I'm tooling around with another tileset and I thought that checking out your work in 3d might give me a few tips. =)

Sent, check your email that you have listed with the formus. Just so we're clear, i am waiting on wood and metal textures from quentine. then i can start working on the tiles that contain doors. After that...er...we'll see whats left to do.

Thanks!
Would it be possible for you to use placeholder textures in the meantime? That way the mapping can be set up and you'll know what dimensions the textures need to be and how they need to tile and they can be updated as you go along without holding back development. Just an idea.

lol i could, but don't wanna have to uv map a texture, only to change it because it ends up sucking with the texture I end up getting. Besides. it lets me do some schoolwork and such lol BTW, check out my website, i give you guys a mention there, though the Velothi Gallery is not yet ready. Lots of peeps from my school will see it.

spankybus:
I was more thinking that if you - for instance - set up a 512x512 stony texture for the walls, a 256x256 stony texture for the floor and a 256x256 texture for the ceiling, all of them tiling horisontally (but not necessarily vertically since they'd only tile once up and down) then Quentin or someone else could use those textures for reference and create replacement textures that fit in with the mapping you've set up. "Morrowind Visual Pack" have a great selection of useful textures, among others a bunch of Velothi ones but other sundry 'goodies' as well like wood and rope and such. Who knows, maybe they could even work as well as a new custom set of Velothi textures would? hrug:
I'm sure it'll work out in either case, and you should definitely not let the modelling project get in the way of school or your social life - take as many breaks as you want, your progress so far is immensely impressive and I have no doubts whatsoever that you'll finalize it.
And thankyou kindly for the mention on your site.

Wo worries mate, I like Quentines textures, so I can wait for his work. If you want the mapping for each piece a certain way, size wize, for compatibility reasons, tell quentine which sized the textures neet to be. Ultimately, that is what dictates how I map them. THen you can use any textures to skin them, though i cannot vouch for how the old TES3 texture packs will look on the Velothi set I am making, because hte texture I am using now are using more tricks then were available in Morrowind, but it can't hurt to have it set up to use em. if it sux, it sux. but atleast you can find out.

Here we are. I hope I can fulfill the high expectations and if there is anything else you need, just let me know. Fortune-ately it's weekend, so you won't have to wait too long ... unless you ask for about a few dozen of textures.
The package contains
- two wood textures (one rather plank, and one old and weathered), the latter one probably tileable and one rather old metal texture
- the respective bump maps
- the respective specular maps
All textures are in .tga format and the size is 512x512 pixels. Please let me know, if the textures you need could be smaller.
I remember that you said something about a single plank ... do you want/need it still?
Curious how it will look.
Greetings
Quentin

You are the man! I haven't checked em yet, cuz I am pissing with my website and reading for a pop quiz on tuesday. The single plank gig will be if I make doors with each individual board of the door an object or not. It will debend on how poly-intensive this becomes. However, because the dungeos can be comparmentalized, we should be able to have a good deal of flexibility, within reason mind you. That's wher ethe experimentation comes in!
Razor was saying something about using set texture dimenions for hte tilesets to make them compatible with traditional tes3 testurepacks. I dunno if this is useful directly as I think our texture kick the crap out of even Morrowinds textures thus far. But, some people might make texture packs for Oblivion using the same format as morrowind packs, at which point it becomes more relevant. Might wanna ask him about hte details and see yal want to send me all new textures using the said template. just let me know whats up.

Sorry for the confusion, I just meant that:
1) you could start out using textures from Morrowind Visual Pack to set up the mapping
2) and then tell the texturer the dimensions of the textures and if and how they needed to be seamless.
That way the mapping can be set up while waiting for the textures. But it doesn't matter now since Quentin made the textures and all is well.

my god...retinas...burning...velothi tomb... too... awesome :goodjob:
very, very, very good job spanky, everything looks the like the logical evolution of the velothi look that we already have established!
a note about the lighting however, i think that the idea of skylights is goign to end up beign to ambitous to fully implement, however i'm at a loss for a replacement... in some of the vids the devs have stayed that luminous mushrooms will provide illumiantion, and in the PC gamer screenies you can see that there are also luminous crystals used as well...
