Well, its supposed to be a bone-like material? but the lighting in mudbox totally screwed that when I took the snapshot. it'll have leather straps to attach to the upper arm. along the socket. I'll refine it more, and stick it on a model and update it soon.

and I was also going for the painted look to it as well, ill add some cracks in the paint and chips in it to make it look a bit more realistic.

(also if the argonians are supposed to wear a different kind of armor Then lets scratch this mesh and start over)

It really does look like a jumbled mess x.x;

I'll post some ingame screen shots of it monday for sure.

I think it looks sweet. Definate keeper. :goodjob:

Thanks IS! And good to read your post, Favill!

Regarding the armour, I'm with Lady Nerevar on this one. Although I like the bone idea, it's nonetheless indistinct....although starting with the shoulders doesn't help as you don't get an idea of where you're going with it. But, as Tlo1048 recognises, the tribal idea is a nice one and it's definitely in line with what we're planning....I never like the glossy look though...maybe that's just personal preference.

Anyway, here is what we're currently working on: List of Factions (I'm actually just adding some of these armours now). Yet we still lack things such as a suit of armour to go with the 'croc helm' here: Modders Resources and new items . That's a tough task though and you'd have to build on what another modder has done which, I can accept, is not good for modellers. Likewise (but easier as it only involves texturing), we have a 'Marsh Iron Cuirass' but no other armour pieces. It's dead simple (but very nice) as it just adds rust to the base Iron design.

Otherwise, it's a case of checking through the Factions. I've tended to create a lot of rootworm bone items so maybe 'painted rootworm bone' is an option. Check the assets to take a look at the textures. Or....we have a 'Stonewastes tabard' which is specialist Imperial Guard armour for Stonewastes but there's no design for a place like Soulrest and Rock Grove where there might also be Imperial Guards.

Anyway, feel free to ask about claims. There's plenty and there's sure to be something to suit you.

There is currently a reference to the 'Pledge of the Lizard King' in the original post. This will be adjusted, however, so as to point towards these rules with the option of reading up on past events (the pledge). I will also be making my final decision on my own involvement on the 21st of this month.

This may seem a little anal to some but I felt it was necessary to get a list of rules in place on membership following the recent 'Pledge of the Lizard King'. Based on activity over the past 2-3 weeks, this is the current team set-up:

TEAM MEMBERS

Ibsen's Ghost - Leader
Tlo1048 - Deputy Leader
Back2Murder - Core Member (General Modding)
Deeza - Core Member (Lore and Modding)
Llamaranger - Core Member (Models and Modding)
Insanity Sorrow - AI and Scripts Manager
Koniption - Modelling Lead
DoZeNt - Textures and Modding
Joey2k - General Modding

CONTRIBUTORS

ShadowGame - Specialist Contributor (Hist Shrines)
PhiniusMaster - Specialist Contributor (Gideon)
Favill - Contributor (Models?)
Shreddz - Contributor?
XJDHDR - Contributor?
Sachiel - Contributor (Models)
DrMcCoy - Contributor (Quests)
Eshenaleros - Contributor (VA)

The current lists are subject to change. Note that some contributors receive specific credit for the work that they do but may not be classified as full members.

Some contributors may become honorary members once a sufficient body of work has been submitted but, if infrequent attendance is recorded, the credits will restrict them to that specific piece of work rather than as a full member.

All others that you see that have made posts are currently classed as inactive and, barring the likes of 'founding members' such as KuKulZa, will eventually receive 'contributor' status if it can be ascertained that they have indeed made a significant contribution.

For example:
  • KuKulZa - Ex-Leader
  • Senten - Ex-Core Member
  • Rickious - Ex-Contributor (although his work was excellent, not enough was, in the end, completed)
NEW RULES:
  • If absence continues unrecorded for more than 2 weeks, you may be removed from the team.
  • A modding esp has to be submitted every month (even if this is just a single interior) in order to be classified as a full member as opposed to a contributor. That's not much to ask and takes some of the pressure (that makes things neither fun nor imaginative for the player) off myself and the team.
Finally, we would love to have everyone on board but some appear to join large projects and then just disappear. This is designed to ward off such types and encourage serious modding. Infrequent attendance is annoying and seriously affects progress on large mods such as these if those who have signed themselves up for doing something are not there when their specific skills are a high priority at crucial moments of development.

Having said that, this is unpaid and voluntary and it should be fun but please show some responsibility or, like everything, there have to be some consequences.

The rules are there to credit people with 'what they do' rather than 'what they offer'. We're not too fond of egomaniacs! They don't make good team members.

(...in the absence of the Lizard King, the tribesmen laboured to return Argonia to its former majesty. After 21 days, the people saw a figure cloaked in streamers of moss emerging from the swamps of the everglades and a fire was lit to welcome the newcomer as he gave his tidings to his honoured companions...)

21 days gone and I'm pleased to say that the work of the team has collectively exceeded that of my own modding quite comfortably (which was the target that I privately set to decide upon my continuation as BM leader). It's great to see the forums so lively again and it's particularly nice to have an official #2 in the form of Tlo1048 as it means I'm not totally the sole, consistent core member.

Regarding membership, please read the post above if you haven't done so already. I will be nudging members to adjust their signatures in due course and will also be contacting the 'stayaway' members to see if they are fit to continue with us (not if they're messing us about though). One person I spoke to today was drmccy who will be rejoining us again as soon as Valenwood is done (which he estimates as about 3 months or so) so hopefully we'll have another quest/dungeon modder around.

As for myself, although I can't stop modding for BM (it's an addiction), I'm exercising much stronger self-restraint from hereon as, at my age, there are a lot of things I need to do in RL if I am to do myself justice and be fair to myself.

If anyone was thinking I'd have taken off and left, taking my contributions with me, then count yourself very much mistaken. Although I had considered at one point 'doing a runner' with the rootworm stuff, I certainly wouldn't withdraw contributions from the mod. I only say this because I know of some teams that have done in the past but I think it's an unforgiveable act of egotism.

So it will just be a case of cutting down on the amount of time I spend on the project. I'd prefer to cut out a lot of modding and just concentrate on admin and contributing to writing and quests but I accept it probably won't work out that way. I'm gradually making additions to landscaping by doing about 4 cells at a time but I'll be needing more 'me time' soon as it's my holidays and I've almost recovered from my operation.

^ I don't really know how everyone feels about this but i for think that RL is far more important than oblivion. Modding oblivion is a hobby, a good hobby, but still just something you do in your free time and when you feel like doing it.

That's how i mod, when i have time and feel like it, i mod. I really hope that there aren't any seeing this as a "job" with deadlines and the likes, kinda like what lady nerevar said on the previous page.

And thank you for being a great leader for this mod IG Smile

Off-topic: Would you allow me to include a link to the Bethforums WIP thread in my bethforum signature?

Yes, please do. It can't hurt. =)

And yes, I agree, but I can't do this on my own. It would be unfair for someone to join, promise much and deliver little or nothing. This mod has a history of unproductive chatterers IMO. What's the point in joining if you don't contribute?

Come on, folks! Time to get a bit of work done...

How would it sound if we arrange a two-week 'busy period' so we can shunt this project forward a little more and get everyone making those little, essential contributions....?

Sounds good to me.

Yeah, don't let those little turds get you down. Dingleberries stick for a while, but eventually they fall off. Cool
