Option 2 sounds good... if it's 100% sure to work that is.

Q. Is the jail working yet? And also if we can't get a fix for the
Guards Dialouge (Any race except Imp if I'm right is missing Dialouge)
I beilieve that it would just be easier to make a new "False Guard"
class, which would fix all of the problems.
Edit 2006.11.17 09:10:
Where oh where is Qxzyz?
I have made a new Load screen for HG!
Made from one of LC's Screenshots
Edit: Also because I'm feeling very happy today here is a jpeg so you don't have to manually Dwnd the file to see it
The Old Ye Bard has attached this image (downsized version):

Is that for a widescreen? The resolution seems different then mine.

It is the same resolution as the other ones (stock OB) so it should work.

I imagine Qxzyz is taking a break from all the hard work he's done.
Does anyone know if he frequents another forum or have an email so we could at least get the file and see what's been done.
And we're not late LC; just time-challenged
I'd say we're very close to completion. All thats really need is bug
ironing-out (quests, interiors, scripts etc.) and implementation of
voice acting.

Ahh, that's right. I hope you return to us soon. Qxzyz (if you're reading this.)
I'd be willing to take over the latest file from Qxzyz; problem being that we don't know when he'll be back...

The file is in his leaving thread, you know what forum that is in.
When he gets back just give the file back to him. To begin with check
over all the quests to see if there is any bugs, and also where he left
the unfinished quests. Make the fixes then move onto picking up the
unfinished quests where he left off.

*Also the loading screen I made needs to be added aswell (Before you say anything it is the correct size).
*Further testing needs to be done to see if there is anyway to cheat the quests or mess them up in some way.
*Also I've been thinking that the actual village of Haerter's Gap might be best in a child world space....

The child worldspace idea won't work unless you have massive walls around it.

Smokey and Qxzyz FTW!
Making a new texture for the sword in the "Sins of a Dunmer" quest
isn't necessary as the only thing the altered texture will add is a
small engraving of a name. Just make a new item.
I did do the textures for the snow bear cuirass, but I couldn't get it
to work in game because some mesh merging needed to be done in
NifScope. I also sent the files to two other people (more experienced
them me) and they also had no luck in making it work.

Not true, Haerter's Gap already has large rocks around it, and steep
sides, along with the walls of the census office. To stop the player
jumping over we could just put havok boxes around Haerter's Gap. We
really need to put it in it's own world space, becuase if we disable
borders it also disables the borders of other world spaces, including
our new Skyrim and Solstheim world spaces.

Done.
And I don't see any reason to change Haerter's Gap to a child
worldspace when it has worked fine in the Tamriel worldspace since it
was first started (and I don't remember there being any problems with
the Tamriel worldspace.)

You could just modify cyrodiils borders to fit Haerter's Gap.

I'd agree with SD. Unless there are major problems with the worldspace,
the amount of work needed to create a new one and put HG in it, isn't
offset by the benefits. If there are border issues, Alasdair's
suggestion is better. Anyway, most people have already disabled the
Beth border limitation, so they know what's going on. |

I've been having a fair bit of trouble testing quests as my Oblivion
seems set on freezing about 5 minutes after opening it
Nevertheless I have had a chance to do some work. It seems putting
people in factions sometimes gives them no greeting. I'm trying to find
a way to work around this.
As I said before I know that Heritage Unearthed definitely works as
does the Cold Argonian. I've tweaked A Tempting Offer so Taarirna does
actually leave (and the quest should work fine.)
In the melon quest I've added rewards but the dialogue for the
merchants doesn't appear to be appearing. "Getting Into Skyrim" still
needs a workaround for the checking of items. "The White Witch" still
needs testing (as Qxzyz said the Queen didn't appear for him.)
"Breaking the Habit" also needs testing. It seems our drug addict runs
back to the Gap from wherever he is....(just an AI package I think.)
Asta from A Girl Away from Home also appears in Haerter's Gap when she
should not (probably the script.) The rest also need testing. I've
added some dialogue for Aaberg to give you the Hunting the Beast quest
too.
In other words, there's still a lot of work to do. I've noticed that
Haerter's statue sometimes moves. Anyway, I'll post the file this
weekend so GB can work on it. I'll try to get these bugs ironed out by
next week but no guarantees because of Christmas and all that jazz.

The statue also still needs a hovok box, the same with all of the Ice statues (the dead ones).

The script for the statue of Haerter probably needs to be reworked all together.
The White Witch NPC can be reworked as a new NPC if there are any
problems. All the stats and the char gen data can be recreated with a
new reference if you can't pinpoint the problem.
What about the voice acting, any news from the OVAG?

Sure, Smokey, when you put up the next version, start a new thread. At
40+ pages, it's time. Just to let you know, though, I'll be out of town
this weekend, so you can keep it if you wish. - Or would someone else
care to do some debugging? |

I think it would look better if it was one positoned horisontally because of the size, instead of vertically.

Hi all.
My computer decided to infect itself with spyware that we couldn't get rid of (made by antivirus companies...)
Our computer was reformatted but I haven't been able to do much work recently (with Christmas and working almost every day
) I didn't lose the HG files though, thank God. I hope to have
something up and running withing the next two weeks i.e. all quests
fully functioning.

Phew... I though your post would finish with a more tragic ending when I started reading it.
I'm sorry to hear about the trouble with your comp, I hope you didn't loose too much valuable stuff.
Two weeks... that's not bad at all. With any luck we well be able to
pull off a release before my winter school brake ends and I will be
able play HG care free.

Yeah, sorry to hear it, SD. With 98, I seemed to be reformatting every
2 months or so (did a lot of backing up on CD.) With XP, it's only
about 6 months or more. Maybe with Vista, we'll never have to reformat
again?
Good to hear that nothing was lost. btw, you can add the stretchers.
I'll keep the same file names and locations on the final versions.
Which reminds me, I'll have a wolf (and maybe horker) version also, but
that's a uv remap job.
I'll have to switch gears for a week or so: I have a request for more re-rigged TES III clothes.
Happy Advent!
