Haerter's Gap Quest, The Missing Traveler. |

A traveller has come to the Inn at Haerter's Gap, He explains to you
that a friend of his was meant to meet him there a few days ago, though
he never turned up. He tells you where his camp is and asks you to
check it out. He also says that his friend was up there researching the
ancient race of the Snow Elves, otherwise known as Falmer.
When you get to his camp, you find little more than a burnt out fire
and a small tent. If you search further, you find a small chest with a
diary and a key inside.
In the diary you find out that the night before he was meant to meet
the traveller in the Inn but he went off to search a cave. It says in
the book that he had inherited the key and that the chest that it
opened was buried in the ice years ago for safe keeping, however the
person who put it there died and left it to the person in his will. The
person is lead to believe that the chest contained a Falmer artifact as
the chest was put there just after the relative came back from a Falmer
ruin somewhere in the Rift.
When you get to the cave(same cave as the White Witchs) you find that
the person is frozen solid(or attacks you as a frozen person). Further
in the cave you find the chest and inside you find an enchanted Falmer
cuirass and an enchanted Falmer blade.
When you return and tell the traveller what has happened he tells you
that this is very upsetting, but he is thankful that you did this for
him and he gives you 100 gold and an amulet that he found on his
travels.

Good quest.
I was under the impression that the Falmer set was something to do with Clydes, though?
Anyway, I think the amulet should be left out. Maybe up the gold reward
a bit but the Falmer stuff is reward enough (unless it's a hard slog to
get there.)

Really like that quest....
Yea, I think you should leave the amulet out, it's a small detail I
know, But getting to keep two artifacts and then recieving hundred gold
and an amulet is quite a big reward for one mission.
Yea, maybe up the gold a bit.
Otherwise though, awsum quest.

I'll get the camp set up, unless you want to do that. If you can get me
the text that you want for the diary, I'll make a book out of it ASAP.
As far as Clydes, no prob. He'll just know about some fool traveler who went out in the mountains.

Heres the diary:
(It seems though this book has not ben written in for quite some time)
Entry One
I left from cheydinhal a few weeks ago and I'm finally at Haerter's
Gap. My reason for comming here is that a long time ago a relative of
mine from Skyrim came up here after he had looted a Falmer Ruin, and
had stashed his loot up here for when he would return, however he never
got the chance to and I was forced to bury him last year. After about a
week of mourning I found at that he had left me all of his possessions
in his will, among them was some details about a cave high up in the
mountains. I instantly knew it was where he had gone so long ago and
now here I am.
Entry Two
From what I've heard around the tavern there has been some
disturbances around Haerter's Gap, people going missing and what-not,
however they said I would be all right as I don't look like the type
who would go looking for trouble.
Entry Three
I just remembered that I was ment to meet a friend up here, but it
seems that he is a few days late. Well I cannot wait up for him, I must
push on and make camp.
Entry Four
I have been looking all day for thiis cave and didn't find it until
late. I think I will leave in the morning to go a search through it.
Entry Five
I just woke up, I can here strange noises which sounds like they are
comming from deep underground, like a faint moan. I think morning can't
wait, I'm going to leave right now...

Got it, TOYB. I'll leave the typo's and grammar in since it gives it a more natural flavor.

No this quest won't effect the White Witch one at all, we just put the
frozeb travler in there and put a chest in there as well, which only
can be opened with the Key from the Travelers camp Jewelry box, and the
jewelry box will only be open if you have first talked with the
Travelers friend in the Tavern first.

Just to add that not all of the freeze spells will set the traveler in
the described pose/animation (I couldn't get them all to work).

Ok Psych.
TOYB. How far into the cave did you want Arrinis (our frozen
traveller)? And did you want the cave next to him or a bit further on?

It doesn't really matter, just as long as he isn't in the same Int as the White Witch.
