I still don't think the legion would consort with demons... Unless the leader WAS a demon... :idea2:

How about a small settlement making a deal with them? Like a little dremora town in the desert, and the player must "liberate" the town, or find a way to keep the dremora hidden from the legion.

They wouldn't?

Consider that the imperial battlespire actually occupied a daedric plane (well, sorta). Consider too that imperial officers have cavorted with daedra before. For example, the imperial battlemage Jagar Tharn was aided by Mehrunes Dagon, and it is possible he was also aided by Clavicus Vile (because of his lordship over rituals and such), Boethiah (because of his lordship over conspiracy), and Molag Bal (because of his lordship over corruption).

Also, it's best not to think of daedra as 'demons,' because they aren't. The ashlanders of Morrowind revere the daedric princes as gods, particularly the 'good' daedra like Azura.

To really understand the cosmology of Tamriel, it's important to try and forget our western 'good vs. evil, angel vs. demon' mentality. The Aedra and Daedra are not gods and demons, they're simply different orders of creation. In fact, the only true gods in our sense of the term would be Anu and Sithis.

Of course, then you're faced with the question of how imperials view daedra, and generally speaking, its not favorably.

I think we are in agreement that the original idea won't work, but we like the concept so we must find another way to make it work.

Maybe it could come to pass as a whole legion and the daedra being forced to work together to excape some sort of shady place like a smuggleing ring as in a huge as* smugleing group with a big 3-4 tiered dungeon

How would the player be involved in that?

IMO, the legion shouldn't be involved in this quest AT ALL. An invasion is going on/just happened, the Dremora would be attacked on site, and I don't think they'd want to side with such "violent" people.

I do like the quest idea though...

The player and the legon and the deadra would have say been captured by the smugleing/shady orginization and force to mine or something like that and the player would lead the forced labourers into an upheval of power and help set them as well as himself or herself free.

Eh, I like this, but I just don't see it working in the end.

Perhaps this group of dremora, fearing the Darkness, made a pact with the local KoID, whereby they aid him in his political ambitions by undertaking covert operations (namely, by killing people who stand in his way). The pc joins the imperial legion, rises in rank quickly (I mean, can you become a general irl in like 40 hours?), and gains the ire of this KoID and his unholy retinue? I could see a very interesting storyline taking place around this.
