I mean only the heroic ones go on the frontlines... like Hannibal.... or Zhang-fei, or Saladin, or Alexander the Great...
others were good generals too.... but more behind the scenes... like LeonTrotsky... Abraham Lincoln (sorta)....

the more behind the scenes ones are usually more politically tied up and the ones in battle are usually less politically tied up... but that is not always the case



but if you don't want him to keep being in the Legion you can get the other Nord
