Legio Argonis plans

Legio Argonis plans
[Image: argonian32ih.gif]
alright, as I had claimed Legio Argonis, I need to conceptualize...
now lets see, as of TES3, it was a small dank fort, but was a haven for Argonians seeking a new life, a way to be lawful citizens, etc. So let us put some 6 years into it... and some new ideas...

okay, a Fort needs several things...
- food
- garrison
- leadership

the food, okay, well the Argonians get away with ctaching a few fish, mudcrabs they'll eat, and I guess an artificial kwama mine where a queen was transferred into a pre-made cave and when it began laying eggs, the workers eventually took over the cave-building.
the garrison, well pretty much the entire tribe of Argonians in Legio Argonis, however, there are estranged and smaller tribes of Argonians wandering the Bitter Coast.
The leadership is Ha'Zhorra, the matriarch, and her friend (and possibly lover) Vetham, a Dunmer once warrior now Nine Divines cleric...

[title]Archtitecture & NPCs[/title]
The architecture of the Fort is Imperial, however within the fort-walls is a small circle of huts and on the cliff nearby is the entrance to the kwama mine... The Legio Argonis Fort has a few special designs that the Argonians devised... there is no actual gate but moats and barricades are used. The entrance is small and narrow, allowing only one of two to enter at once. Within, the huts are made of reeds, the small village of the tribe.

(Blue-print & concept art is in the works, so hold on)

NPCs
with these npcs I want to capture not only a disciplined Legion, but a tribe of Argonians, the clannish culture clashing with the introduced, I want it to be a believable society, a real society... everyone has an agenda
Ha'Zhorra - she is the matriarch of the tribe and general of the Legion. She is apparently in a close relationship with the Dunmer Vetham. Her goal is to maintain law & order, as well as keep Legio Argonis politically clean.
Vetham - once a Dunmer general, now a Nine Divines cleric, Vetham maintains the Shrine in Legio Argonis. He loves Ha'Zhorra but feels that their love can never amount to anything. He is opposed to Old-Man-Root's traditional practices.
Mudalei - This Argonian is a smith. Interestingly, she learned how to craft armor from an Orc of Azhag's Camp when she traveled to Blacklight. Since then she has improved and has become competent at armory.
An-Tasei - This well educated Argonian had gone to Cyrodiil to study for a year and has returned, she has many new ideas- about politics, about magic, about her own people...
Mokung - He is a great axeman and powerful voice in the Legion. Mokung is actually from one of the tribes still wandering the Bitter Coast. He is a strong advocate for allying with Eleedal-Lei's guerilla forces on Vvardenfell.
Ga-Jubu - This male is the manager of the Argonis Kwama mine, he is quiet and passive, he is also the keeper of the Legio Argonis gear shop.
Dan-Ru - Once a slave of Telvanni Mistress Therana at Abebaal Egg Mine, Dan-Ru traveled to Legio Argonis to start a new life. She is an admirer of Eleedal-Lei and is attempting to sway Ha'Zhorra to be on friendly terms with Eleedal-Lei's guerilla tribe (outlaw) in the Vvardenfell Bitter Coast. She is one of the three miners at the Kwama mine.
Chirps-with-bird - This young Argonian female is a good tracker, but an ever better musician. When on a war-march, she is the piper that play the Legio Argonis marching tune. However, one certain nights when she is in the mood, she will play some old Argonian tunes on her flute.
Tracks-in-Swamp - This female Argonian is a great Hunter and archer. She is also the scout for the Legion and also helps escort Imperial inspectors. When not scouting, she helps collect Kwama eggs inthe mine.
Old-Man-Root - this old Argonian medicine man is one of the few in Legio Argonis that was part of the old tribe that came to the Bitter Coast. He serves as the traditional wise-man and advisor to the tribe (legion)
Fishes-with-Tail - Unfortunately, he cannot accept the taste of Kwama eggs and has resorted to catching fish. Unfortunately, the Argonians are forbidden to do so.
4 Legio Argonis Guards (4 M)
4 Legio Argonis Archers (2 M, 2 F)

[title]Quests[/title]
Ha'Zhorra Quests
Earn your keep
work
Ha'Zhorra: "yes, at your stay in Legio Argonis I suggest you work to earn your keep. My tribe and Legion is welcoming to hard-working and kindly folks, but deathly cold to those who are not. I think it is because of a fierce pride and clannish working ethic that drives the tribe that also prompts this behavior. Anyhow, I do hope you enjoy your stay, if you would like to help just let me know."
help
Ha'Zhorra: "alright, let us see, here are 20 drakes, now deliver this to the Valderon at Silgrad Tower." [recieve 20 gold, & silver staff]
Valderon
Ha'Zhorra: "yes, he is a Telvanni, but do not worry, the Telvanni seem more well-disposed to people of the root now that Aryon is their leader."

Association with Guerillas
Guerillas
Ha'Zhorra: "Yes, have heard about these guerillas, it seems they are outlaws and the like, allies with orcs and goblins and khajiti smugglers. I do not support them. Allying with them would lower the prestiege of Legio Argonis. In fact, as our duty is to keep the Bitter Coast lawful, we should be collaborating with the Census & Excise to wipe out the guerillas. Unfortunately we are already tied up in other business."
outlaws
Ha'Zhorra: "I understand that Dan-Ru and Mokung are supporters of these outlaws. These guerillas are very charismatic, they want to promise an Argonian home in the Bitter Coast, but they achieve this through war, we achieve that through keeping peace. But I would like you to talk to Dan-Ru and Mokung, and see what their opinions are..."
Eleedal-Lei
Dan-Ru: "oh, Eleedal-Lei, he is a great leader. Not only did he lead our slaves in revolt, he bargained with a certain Telvanni magician and won us our freedom. Now he is onthe Vvardenfell side of the Bitter Coast gathering escaped slaves, outlaws and guerillas from the homeland to fight the Hlaalu!"
Mokung: "Eleedal-Lei, he is a respectable warrior. Infact, when on my leave, I once visited him, but it took me an entire week, and in the end, it was his band that found me, not the other way around. He is a good leader, and an even better warrior, I wish our tribe would ally with his warband."
opinions
Ha'Zhorra: "so it seems these members of my tribe are very impressed with Eleedal-Lei, *sigh*, well I wish I could ally with them.... however, I feel I should talk to Im'Kalaya at the Argonian Mission... and as I do not want to go directlt to Eleedal-Lei which may give away his hideout, could you please bring this letter to Im-kalaya?"
Letter from Ha'Zhorra
Im-Kalaya: "A letter from Ha'Zhorra! She speaks, and we listen! She is my good friend, I wonder what tidings you bring!"
(Letter to Im-Kalaya)
Marsh-sister, it is I, Ha'Zhorra. I ask information on Eleedal-lei, the guerilla in the Bitter Coast. I know according to law, he should be captured and killed, but I fear most Argonians look up to him as a leader who is campaigning in the heart of enemy lands. I hope you can give me advice as to how to deal with him should we encounter.
Im-Kalaya: "this is serious news... well, tell Ha'Zhorra not to worry, tell her that I will contact Eleedal-Lei and ask him not to force us to move against him, his only legal allies in Morrowind."
contact
Ha'Zhorra: "so she say she will contact him, I fear for my friend, she is helpful but has made many under-handed dealings. Anyhow, if what she says is true, we will not need to worry about Eleedal-Lei for awhile. Thank you"

Talk to the tribes
Estranged Tribesmen
Ha'Zhorra: "yes, there are estranged tribesmen about these coasts. They are Argonians who have fled to the Bitter Coast but do not want to join the Legio Argonis. I fear they may join Eleedal-lei and immerse themselves in trouble. I need to contact their chiefs."
Chiefs
Ha'Zhorra: "There are three tribes here, and they have taken on names to suit their environment. The Gnarl-Root, the Ampoule, and the Russola Tribe. Find them, and talk to their leaders. They will not attack you on sight but if you offend them they will attack. Do not attack them and they will not attack you."
Talk to their Leaders
Gnarl-Root Chieftain: "So, the matriarch of the castle says she wants us to join her. I say no, I would rather join the guerillas on Vvardenfell"
Ampoule Chieftain: "I will not chose a side, but I support Ha'Zhorra more, she promises peace, which we do not have."
Russola Tribe: "marsh-sister of the castle is wise, we should listen. I have Eleedal-Lei and his is great, but I fear he will fail. For the satefy of my tribe, we will join the legion" [in 5 days time you will find the tribe has several members armed with Imerpial armor]
Chiefs
Ha'Zhorra: "So you have spoken with them, well I have send documents and armors to the Russola and another emissary to the Ampoule, but I fear for the Gnarl-root. But, thank you for all your work, go to the Legio Argonis gear shop and tell Ga-Jubu that you can get something from there for free"

Vetham Quests
Conversion Factor
Traditions
Vetham: "Yes, these Argonians still practice a lot of heathen practices. Being a cleric for the Nine Divines I feel a need to rectify this.... could you speak to Old-Man-Root for me? he doesn't want to listen to me"
Old-Man-Root
Vetham: "oh, he is a wise argonian, but stubborn too, and a good medicine man, but his words serve to keep te Argonians a strong tribe, not a strong Legion. He dislikes me I know, but I feel it is my duty as cleric of the Imperial Shrine."
Vetham
Old-Man-Root: "Vetham... *hisss* ...he is a bad Dunmer. He tries to change our ways, tries to make us all Imperial. What happened to Argonian in the Black Marsh to assimilated and lived in a caslte? They became the kleptocrats, slavers, mercenaries, and killers of their own folks. We cannot do that!"
"Besides... he is a dirty elf"
kleptocrats
Vetham: "I have heard of them, alright then, it seems Old-Man-Root has a point, well at least they know I am open to converts"
Dirty Elf
Vetham: "How dare he! Me and Ha'Zhorra love each other very much, he does not understand!"

Relationship Impossible
My Love
Vetham: "yes, I will tell you a secret... I love Ha'Zhorra and she loves me... I know... queer. It started awhile ago... I liked her, her smarts, her strength, her humor... but the more I thought about her, the more I like her. Now obviously I have seen beautiful Dunmer, but I know this is different, this is a deeper love... it is all very strange... but impossible."
Impossible
Vetham: "while the two of us are here, we cannot love each other, we can only be friends. The Legion/tribe will never accept our love for one another. I want to make a stand but I fear I will disappoint Ha'z my love."
Disappoint
Vetham: "It is true, so I think we must sneak out to Silgrad, and then get a ship at Ebbedin to leave for Vvardenfell, start a new life together. I fear to speak to her myself as others may see it in a bad way, could you tell her my plans?"
Plans
Ha'Zhorra: "Oh, Vetham, he is so devoted yet such a fool. Can he not see I am bound to my people? I must be their leader as I am the only one able to steer them the right way at this time. I am the moderate force between An-Tasei's new ideas and Old-Man-Roots tradition."
Vetham
Ha'Zhorra: "I do love hims very much, but I fear our relationship can never be... I wish I could go to Vvardenfell with him, he talks to moving to Gnisis or Balmora, or even Vivec City! But I need to care for my people..."
"I will speak to him"
[conversation]
Vetham: "Ha'z my love, let us leave! Let us find a way to Vvardenfell to start a new life! I have an uncle in Gnsis, I know we can be succesful....."
Ha'Zhorra: "shhh... Vetham my dear, you know why I cannot go with you, I have a duty, and so do you, to maintain the shrine, mine to maintain the fort and the tribe."
Vetham: "But do you not love me Ha'Zhora?"
Ha'Zhorra: "I do, I do! and I wish I could go to Gnisis or wherever with you, but please stay, do not go, perhaps one day we can grow old together, but now we need to fulfill our duties...."
Vetham: "Maybe you are right... but perhaps when the Fort is running well under a new leader, we can go to Silgrad Tower, and who knows, maybe we can travel the world!"
Ha'Zhorra: "Yes yes! But until then my love... "
Vetham: "Alright, I understand...."
[embrace]

MISC. Quests
Raid the Pirate Raiders
Pirates
Mokung: "yes, we are preparing to attack them, they are encamped on Latrys Island. Would you like to join us?"
join us
Mokung: "Sure, but be here tomorrow night, that is when we will set off"
[tomorrow night]
Mokung: "alright, follow me"
[travel with Tracks-in-Swamp and 2 Argonian guards]
[kill the five pirates, loot is all yours]
Mokung: "well that was disappointing, those pirates were pitiful, well you can take the loot, may the sands be warm for you outlander."

Mrs. Reformist
Mrs. Reform
Mudalei: "yess, I don't know how to say this... ever since An-Tasei came back from studying, she seems to look down on us and tries to change ou ways... but don't tell her, you didn't hear this from me... why don't you talk to Ga-Jubu"
An-Tasei
Ga-Jubu: "Ah, so it does seem so, studies have made my marshsister An-Tasei an Imperial. Well all I can say is that I will speak to her... it is the least I can do"
[he talks to her, one day later she will approach you]
An-Tasei: "Now I realize how you all feel about my education, you must all be jealous and now shun me, and all because of your meddling outlander!"
meddling
An-Tasei: "well, I guess we all had good intentions.... sorry for my rash remarks. I will stop nagging everyone about reforms... but still, this fort isn't outsider-friendly, its only good for argonians... murky, muddy, swampy... outsiders would be so disgusted!"
outsiders
An-Tasei: "Yes, I had a few friends who said, after we had finished our studies, that they would visit me at the Fort. It has been a year since they came, and the last time they came they only stayed for a moment then left, commenting on the dingy conditions."
Friends
An-Tasei: "I guess so, it seems they aren't as close friends as I wish they were... well thank you for hearing me out, its seemsss that all someone needs is to speak their feelings"

[title]Battles[/title]
On Vvardenfell we are planning to have battles or raids take place periodically... like an ashlander raid or something.
I think perhaps every game month there is a skirmish betnween pirates and Argonian Legionnaries. You can join in the fight if you want... but the pirates are outlaws and will attack you anyhow."
also, every game-year I hope that there can be a rag-tag group of Dunmer warriors that try to attack the fort... crazy fanatics...

[title]Literature[/title]
Mostly literature about the Legion, about the Nines Divines, and some from Argonia. Also, these Argonians have their own alphabet which I am currently attempting to create.
some things unique to Legio Argonis would be its "Legio Argonis Banner" which has the rules of the tribe/legion on it is Legio Argonis alphabet. Also, a history of Legio Argonis is on a shelf too.

Legio Argonis alphabet still being worked on

Absolutely brilliant!! :applause:
Great job KuKulzA, I can tell my old place is in excellent hands.

The area where it's located is part of the Silgrad area, which is administrated again by Quentin Fortune (after being Valderon's for a brief period). So, he's the man to answer if the plans in your map can be incorporated. My only opinion is that it would be nice if there was room left for the Daedric ruin on the south part of the island. In the old mod it lie somewhere inbetween where your map has Gnarl-Root Tribe and the Pirate Fort.

well, thank you
I figured as Vvardenfell is running itself pretty well for the moment and as I am taking a break from an extensive Telvanni quest-line I might as well work on the stuff I promised for the other mods... so starting with Silgrad Tower - Legio Argonis... I am hoping with the quests I really showed a community of Argonians whos tradition is conflicting with new ideas, their hatred with Dunmer conflicting with Vetham's friendliness, etc.etc., and their role as a tribe conflicting with their role as Legion

Solid stuff there.

There was a newcomer who arrived with some swamp modelling some weeks back, and I cannot remember his name or if you saw his thread.

Given what I have read about the history of the Legio Argonis I was wondering if you would like take a look at his stuff and even chat with him about introducing a bit of his scaary-looking dangly swamp environment into your mini Black Marshes of the Legion.

I have briefly transited the TES3 Leg Arg, and what I saw then seemed to be as mixture of Ashlands and the Bitter Coast 'swamps' around Hla Oad and north of there, which is not quite what I envisaged, because I thought that the mainland 'swamps' would be far more Confusedhrug: 'swampy'. Still enjoyed the original, but wondering if the new CS opens up more possibilities...

Thing is if you know who I mean and he is as good as the stills appeared then this would be an ideal area to work out stuff for the actual Black Marshes mod, so do you think that calling on those guys too to get everyone together would be right?

I don't even know if you already have better plans, but hope this is useful. rm

from what I hear, Blackwood is like the more Cyrodiilic Black Marshes area... kinda like not AS jungly and marshy... as Argonia... so that area sounds like a good place to base it off from...

raggidman:
can you tell me whom you are reffering to? its not really Black Marsh, Argonia ia a tropical marshy jungle environment, Bitter Coast is a coastal marsh, and temperatr and more salty

meanwhile I think it would be good to discuss this Legion's position...

most of the Imperial Legions are gone. I think Helseth is creating his own Dunmer/outlander Legions called the Morrowind Legions... thts my own creation Wink

however the remnants of the Legions remain... so they must take a side or stay neutral in the civil war...

I say Legio Argonis will stay neutral... it is trying not to get involved with the guerilla activities of other Argonians, and the siezure of souther Morrowind land which the House Dres took in the Arnesian war.... they are trying to be good

what do you guys think?

Legio Argonis
They moved away from an untenable situation and they have nowhere to retreat to. They are a comparitively small faction that made the most of an opportunity, and so pride in service and caution are likely their watchwords.

Helseth
If you add in a 'darker' connection to the Helseth military mix, then that's him alright, except the name needs more consideration.

Whatever he says publicly, I expect that Helseth of all the people in Tamriel will know exactly what is going on. I cannot stress strongly enough the impact that meeting the child 'Helseth' in Daggerfall had on me. And his education by the Underking (in fulfillment of some dark pact between the Underking and Barenziah) wasone of the major quests.

That was no tiny tomb, it was a massive underground installation, and the audience chamber was one of the scariest places to visit. The walls were lined with ancient vampires and ancient wotsernames, liches. :O

the Legions
Maybe they would take the view that in the absence of specific orders they could only carry out defensive and escort missions for essential supplies and such, as they would need authorisation and strategic authority to engage in a war.

The only way I can see them getting directly involved is if their command structure is infiltrated, or one faction persuades another that they are a threat... = dirty tactics... and stuff?

back to Helseth and his military aspirations remember his Palace Guard in Tribunal? Then there were Almalexia's 'heavy' troops - would Helseth have tried to subvert them? Could he have? Could he ignore their existance?

If he recruits them, then there are the other Ordinators to consider.

Plus the green glass jobbies - at the Ghostwall and in that city on the South Coast of Vvardenfell I would expect to go to Redoran (though Redoran is not the usual house for light armor) because that was the way things were set up previously.

What do you think? Did Almalexia's special Ordinators go over to Helseth, did they disband, or will he annihilate them? That could be a quest in itself somehow, or a book - 'the Last Ordinator'.
Because loyalty is not to be spoken of and honour is to be endured. Whilst courage is to be survived. These virtues belong to silence.
