Need a hand?
I want to know If you need any help or anything. I have a few Exotic weapons I feel could fit in Akavir. I would have made a katana but there are a million of them. They're not specifically asian but they look cool.

Ken

Kora

Kotiate

Mandau

Wahaka

I can churn these out pretty fast. If you need anything specific just ask. I might be able to do clothes and armor, but I have to get the bugs out.

I like the kotiate (liver cutter - a Maori club made of wood or whale bone) and the wahaika (also a Maori club, it means fish mouth) they would be perfect for the Ra'monTang Mo race (the sea monkeys) :goodjob:
I can't believe that some one modelled these weapons, most people would not have any idea what they are looking at when they see Maori clubs Wink

I like the kora too, it's a sword from Nepal... i'm sure we can use it for something.

RE: Need a hand?
Very nice!

It's seems modeling is your forte, but I could really use some help rigging some clothes. Have you rigged any armor or clothes? I've got the models and textures done, but for the life of me, I just can't get em in game.

I'm glad you like them. With the exception of the Ken I modeled and skinned all of those yesterday. The reason I made the clubs was because I never felt there was a lot of different weapons in games, people really only think of the mainstream weapons, that's why there are a million katanas out there everyone models one skins one and releses one and in the end there are like a million practically identical daito. Sorry for ranting that kind of stuff really gets to me. About the armor: I completely modeled the armor Ashley wears in Vagrant Story about a month back, I atempted to rig it... It ended in total catastrophe, I only modeled these to end my frustration with the armor. I really didn't know what the clubs were, but I thought they were really cool, there are about four more diffierent types I plan on making. So if you need a model just get me a pic or a really good idea what it looks like and I can make it. I type the way I talk, which means a lot. Sorry.

Yeah, i think we can use all of the weapons :check:

There are some weapons that we will need for the Akavir mod, if you want to model any of them, that would be great! Big Grin

I will start with a japanese club, the tetsubo, you can see a picture here: http://tousando.proboards18.com/index.cg...1096859878
The second club from the bottom (the heavy looking club) is the best example of this type of weapon.

The next weapon we need is the daikyu (japanese great bow) you can see some pictures here: http://www.kyudo.com/kyudo-h.html
And here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yumi
Note that the average length of a japanese bow is 7 feet, but i have seen bows that are well over 8 feet (and have a pull of 200lbs)
The lenght of these bows could be a problem when worn on the back of a short NPC or player.

We can also use a japanese spear, a su-yari would be cool to have, there are some good pictures of blades here: http://www.aoi-art.com/sword/yari/main.html
Su-yari can have a blade lenght of up to 2 feet and 8 inches, but most are half that size or shorter.
Another type of spear is the jumonji yari, you can see 3 pictures here: http://forums.swordforum.com/showthread....adid=58556
The first two pictures show a chidori jumonji yari, it's another type of jumonji yari...but it would be awesome to have both types of jumonji yari, the picture of the normal jumonji yari is almost on the bottom of the page.

That's all i can think of right now Wink
