Void sharing stuff

Unfortunately I had to do rotated box for the stairs collision, because when I tried to do boxes for each of the stair - when approaching the model cuases lag, as there are too many elements in the collision mesh.
Enjoy.

Wow you can do that prettey fast. I skinned one of the models I downloaded, it had a bunch of little objects in it, do I skin those too?

Well it's done fast because when I select bunch of elements I detach them, choose flatten mapping and then what is in uv editor I simply scale it much, but of course the texture has to be seamless. And that's "lazy" way, because sometimes texture can be wrongly placed on a model.
Can you show what you've done already? And what do you mean by "bunch of little objects in it"?

Yes, i have just seen cloudruler temple, it does have a stairs.

It might be worth to take a look at it's collision boxes, just to see how it's done.

The obj I was skinning was a sushi stand, so it included pots and buckets. I guess I will just cut the objects away so the stand doesn't have to be a sushi stand.

Or you could make two versions, one without all the extra things, and one sushi stand :]

EDIt: Nah... we could put some food item models like sushi in-game separately, that would make more sense.

I agree.
Corthian - what's your status with those chaya models? Which you haven't textured yet? Maybe I could work on some?
Btw - that himeji castle is pretty shitty IMHO. I am not sure how the texturing can be improved, other, smaller objects are easy to do, but those castles aren't, at least for me.
And the glowing drives me crazy. ;( I don't know why those bright textures glow so much, without normal map they look little bland though.

Himeji-jo has some walls that look nice in-game, with reasonable textures.
But... some walls are super white, as if it has no normal map, or whatever.
I'm sure something can be done to make it look better.
And there are a lot of poly's that can not be seen by the player, just look at the bottom of the model, i think they should be deleted... but i'm not a modeller... so i don't know what the hell i'm talking about Big Grin
It also needs collision.
The buildings can't be seen from a distance, this is also a problem that has to be solved... maybe later right?
