The buildings have to be marked "Visible from distance" in CS, but if they are to be visible from some bigger distance I think they need distance LOD low-poly models, but I'm unable to do those, I'm not a modeller too. Big Grin
I was trying to mess up with normal map's alpha channel and still glowing is on. I think both castles need re-working (I did Matsumotojo Castle, but it's even worst that Himeji Big Grin ).

"Visible from distance" in CS is what i did, but like you said, "they need distance LOD low-poly models" :yes:
Even when "Visible from distance" in CS is used, the castle just disappears when you walk away from it for a short distance.
EDIT: i forgot to export the lod :eek:

Btw, you don't have to use the word castle, "jo" means castle in japanese, or you could just say Matsumoto Castle and Himeji Castle Wink

LOD for buildings and trees, if you don't do that in the CS, nothing will show up in the distance at all.
Well... if i'm not making a mistake that is... it's been a while since i have done all that.
In the CS, there should be a menu that says export lod.

I thought you have to do LOD for buildings manually in a modelling program.

If they are new models, maybe... i have only done this with Oblivion models, so i'm not sure about that.

In the CS, go to "world" menu, then select "world testing" then select "update distant lod data" then select what you want to update.
That should be it, unless i missed something.

Ok, i will try it right now.

EDIT: It worked for me, i can see the tower from a small distance, after that it disappears, i think that happens at the distance when the model is replaced with a distant LOD model, and we don't have those.
