Yeah sounds good TOYB. Perhaps Dwarven? or Steel? or something else?

Noooo... no "frost" in the name at all... please!
How about "Haerter Icebane Sheild".

How about just "Haerter's Sheild". Also dwarven wouldn't make sense, I
say a retex of a town guard one with a unique emblem. The same sheild
unenchanted could be given to the Haerter's Gap guards. For the emblem
I suggest something simple like this, http://mpersosdaocrienkamoi.free.fr/Icon...m_berzerker.jpg

I'll do the re-tex for the shield.
Edit 2006.08.19 17:30:
Here's the shield. I brought it in game, so all you have to do is
extract it to your OB directory. It's under 1SK in the CS if you want
to make some balancing changes (at the moment it adds 10 frost shield
and has 16.5 AR). Hope you like it.
Edit: A while ago we discussed putting the old ARENA poster in the
teaser (at the back of the tavern). I was just getting to this when I
noticed that Bethesda had beaten us to it.
There is an old ARENA poster in game already, it's in
"data\textures\clutter\signs", and is simply named arena. I've never
encountered it in game, so I have no idea where it's used exactly. I
attached it so you can see whith your own eyes.

Very nice retex for that sheild, I can't believe they beat us to it
with the poster! But is it a poster because on the pic you posted it
looks like there is wood on the texture(I assume it's a texture) so
maybe it still will still need a retex.

I'm not sure, but I think it's something like a picture on a wooden board.

Well that means we could still make a retex on an actual poster for it then.

Yes, but I'm not sure if it's worth including a whole new mesh and texture just for that.

Not a new mesh, just reuse the Arena one or a greyfox one and just copy
most of the texture from the Old Arena one already in game and then
apply some alpha mapping in places to look like it's old and torn, and
if your've got Photoshop the burn tool would be very handy.

We will still need to include the re-textured copy of the mesh in the
teaser which I think is unnecessary clutter. And if we remove the wood
from the current texture we will have to include a new texture as well.
Plus if we remove the wood it would be too small and have the wrong
shape to be able to fit the new arena poster mesh.

I guess, but having an out-dated arena poster in HG somewhere would
increase emmersion ten fold and would have fans of our mod become
overwhelmed with the amount of detail shown in it. Including it would
show that are mod means quality.

True, but I think that we can use the one (even though it's not really a poster) Beth used.

Either way (or both) works. I went through a lot of statics, and couldn't find where they used that texture.
Thanks for the book texture. I've got that in-game, with an icon. Right
now, I'm trying to relocate the ice cave and put the camp in. It's
amazing how few empty cells there actually are! |

Good to know we're not waisting any space.
Sorry about the book icon, I totally forgot about that.

Edit: Greybeard how far off is the MW office away from being updated
with the new Int piece and other things, because as soon as that's done
we can start Beta testing of the Ints.
Edit: We need to get those Snow Bears in game for the quest, Besieged by Bears. |
They would be called polar bears or grey bears (two variants in the
resource master file). You also probably want to drop down some other
snow creature spawns around the gap. Maybe if you can get some of
Flesh's trees in time there can be some of those in the gap.
Is it possible to get everything into Haerter Gap so we have a few days to bug fix and beta test?

Flesh's trees don't have snow on them, we'll have to change the leaf textures

I've got a place for the tent and cave, but I keep ripping the
landscape mesh. Guess I'll finish up the Morrowind office first
instead. |

I think I've collected everything that's finished, or as nearly as
possible, and I'll put a new beta together today. Also, in the good
news catetory, I've worked it out with my boss that I'll be off next
weekend so that I can spend 2 solid days on the project. And I think
I've found a path for the camp and cave that the game can handle. Later
. . .

I can do that myself and most likely will, just not right now. I
couldn't get much more out of the current texture, but I can try and
find another one or fully make one my self, that would just take
longer.

No, I'll ask now.
Edit 2006.08.20 23:48:
We have permission to use the sword. Credit for the mesh should go to Imperial Fishy.
I'm currently re-texturing the Dwemer longsword because I remembered
that it's the perfect copy of a typical Celtic sword. I'm making it for
the Order of The Silver Raven. I'll let you know how it turns out.
Edit 2006.08.21 01:25:
Here is the silver longsword I mentioned. It has a few silver raven
symbols on it, but I doubt anyone will notice since they are too small,
so it can be used for anything. If you like it I?ll do the shortsword
too.

In general, please don't use apostrophes (') in file, mesh or texture
names. The CS (and some other prog's) thinks it's a start-of-file
marker. And that means that I have to figure out what you meant and
rename them. Not a big chore, but one that can be avoided.
Sorry, but there won't be an update tonight. It's already late, and I'm
only about half done adding all of the stuff we have made lately. I'd
like to get it ready tomorrow after work - or at least post an update
with as much new material as possible. |
